$41 million, dedicated to
the development of new
office buildings in Birmingham
and Los Angeles. Major
renovations to the Chicago
District Office, and expansion
in Lenexa.
New facilities will serve
current ICC expansion, and provide
tenant opportunities.
Patterned after our green

Building, our capital improvements
will follow the LEED
(Leadership in Energy and
Enviromental Design) Green
Building Rating System developed
by the U.S. Green
Building Council (USGBC).
Rives Construction Company
has been hired to oversee
delivery of all II expansion
projects. Rives' services
will involve properly search
and acquisition, sale of existing
facilities, and design and
construction of all future
ICC facilities, nation-wide.
Consistent with the commitment to intensify the Code Council's green programs, a new heating and air conditioning
unit was installed at the Chicago District Office. The new unit meets the ASHRAE 90.1 standard which is referenced
in the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). Commercial buildings either have to meet 90.1 or Chapter 5
of the IECC.
As part of the Facilities Master Plan, the new break room at the Chicago District Office will include additional seating
and dining space, new wooden doors, expanded storage areas and new walls in some areas that contain metal studs and 5/8
inch GWB.
A worker replaces weatherproof sealant and re-caulks windows at the Chicago District Office. The weatherproofing will
fix leaking that occurs during inclement weather. It is one of several maintenance projects at the location, and ties
in well with the Code Council's organizational focus to make Code Council workplaces more energy efficient.
The Chicago District Office received a new face lift as part of the Code Council’s Facility Master Plan. Painters went
to work on the original building, built in 1984, and the first addition, completed in 1991. New carpet was also installed at
the Chicago office facility.
