The most common error is XP users whose installations do not produce an error during the installation process but does not allow the program to open/run correctly. Most times, it gives a user an error saying "Views.exe cannot be found" or "Unable to Open infobase (Error 345,2)."
To get past this problem, follow these steps:
1. Browse to the folder on the PC that contains the Folio program files and run the "autoreg.exe" manually by double-clicking on it to register the .dll files manually.
If that doesn't work or if that file was not installed:
2. Uninstall the program using Add/Remove Porgrams from the Control Panel.
3. Then use Run/Regedit to check for the existence of 2 registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/ALPFLBuildingCodesENU
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/ALPFLBuildingCodesENU
(FYI-The user must have Administrator Rights to edit the registry.)
If they exist, right-click on each key and choose "delete" to manually delete the registry keys.
4. Close the registry editor.
5. Re-install the software from the CD-ROM. It may ask you to reboot after the installation process is complete because of the registry changes -- make sure you do this. Again, it's important to make sure that you are logged in with Administrator Rights so that you can install/uninstall software.
